Ok well on AIX systems is this daemon basically its function is to transfers files some times this daemon hangs up. this is how to restart this daemon, first lest review the relevant options of the manual:
-c[y] Kill the daemon process and free shared memory. This option should be reserved as a last resort since it will bring the scheduler down immediately, whether or not there are running or scheduled transfers.
-s Stop the XCOM daemon by sending a request to the
Now if you go whit the -s option at first you are doing things the right way, but if there is other process using the demon the execution will fail. That is why you must do:
# xcomd -c
# xcomd start
